It's now certain that Intel's upcoming high-end 975X chipset will offer support for both ATI's CrossFire and NVIDIA's SLI dual-graphics card technology.

Sources at Taiwanese motherboard makers say the 975X will have a built-in PCI Express x16 chipset which enables motherboard makers to design motherboards with two PCI Express x8 slots.

The sources also hint Intel will present the 975X together with a 65nm dual-core Pentium Extreme Edition 955. This processor will feature a 1066MHz FSB and 2MB L2 cache for each core.
