In a new book, tech journalist Brad Sams reveals that Microsoft is considering to release a Surface Laptop with an AMD-based APU. Microsoft reportedly has doubts about Intel's 10nm roadmap, and may pick a Zen 2-based APU as an alternative. If the rumor pans out, this AMD-based Surface Laptop may arrive towards the end of 2019.

The book also predicts Microsoft will reveal a new Surface Pro tablet with USB Type-C and smaller bezels in Q4 2019, an "ambient computing" device in Spring 2019, cheaper Xbox One S products, a hybrid Surface Book in 2020, and a future "Andromeda" device that will feature a foldable, dual-screen configuration.
And then there’s “Andromeda.” Reports of a foldable, dual-screen device, that could be the company’s next stab at the smartphone market. have trickled out for some time. Sams adds new insight, reporting that the device, which could come late next year, is bigger than previous reports indicated and may be closer to a PC than a smartphone.
