Some more details emerged about AMD's Radeon VII. The card packs a 7nm Vega GPU with 3840 stream processors and now we know it measures just 331mm², which is a lot less than the 495mm² die size of the 14nm Vega.

This makes Radeon VII a lot smaller than the GeForce RTX 2080, which has a 545mm² die size, but both cards are hard to compare considering NVIDIA's RTX line has a lot of extra silicon for deep learning and ray tracing.

With a $699 launch price, the Radeon VII will cost the same as NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 2080. The launch is scheduled for February 7th so we'll have to wait about one more month until we know how AMD's 7nm Vega performs in terms of gaming performance and power efficiency.
