Intel LGA1159 with up to 10-core CPUs on the way?

German tech site ComputerBase picked up rumors about upcoming 10-core "Comet Lake" desktop processors from Intel. Still made on a 14nm process, one of the surprises of this rumor is that all leaked version numbers seem to have Hyper-Threading support.

Other than more cores, the leak also points to predictable things like higher clockspeeds and unfortunately also a higher TDP. Comet Lake is essentially yet another improvement of the 14nm Skylake architecture, so there isn't much that Intel can do to make this refresh a Ryzen-killer.

ComputerBase also heard Comet Lake may require the LGA1159 socket and a 400-series motherboard. Guess we'll find out later this year how much of this pans out to be accurate.
