Intel now has dev kits of its Xe GPU

Intel CEO Bob Swan revealed that the Xe "DG1" (Discrete Graphics 1) graphics card has entered the power-on validation phase. The chip giant has completed initial testing and developer kits of the Xe GPU are out in the wild (or will be soon).
We don’t yet know what the first Intel Xe GPU will look like in terms of its overall makeup, but we’re expecting it to be hewn from the same design blocks as the Gen12 graphics set to find their way into Tiger Lake processors next year. The initial DG1 (Discrete Graphics 1) card could well be a relatively low-power GPU, potentially with only around the same performance as the top integrated Tiger Lake graphics silicon, but that is far from confirmed.
Intel's Chris Hook celebrated the event with a cryptic tweet.

The first Xe cards from Intel will be made on the 10nm process and is expected to ship next year. Last week, Intel also shared that a 7nm GPU for the datacenter market is on track for Q4 2021.
