It's said this mobile GPU will contain 302 million transistors. According to some slides the 7800GTX will double the shader performance over the old 202 million transistor GeForce Go 6800 Ultra and boost the geometry performance by a factor of 1.6. The 3DMark03 score should be doubled.
The GeForce Go 7800 GTX will probably be clocked at 400MHz with 1100MHz memory and a 256-bit bus. According to a leaked slide from NVIDIA the chip should offer 99 percent the performance of shipping desktop PCs, probably meaning those with 7800GTX cards on board.
This chip will support Windows Vista and over the next few weeks we can expect notebooks featuring this high-end mobile GPU from Dell, Alienware, Voodoo, Sager, Falcon, ABS, ProStar, HyperSonic and Evesham.
On the other hand it's also reported ATI claimed earlier this week that its Radeon X1800 would be on store shelves by the end of this month, even though it hasn't officially announced the GPU yet.
