Word is going around that AMD updated the specifications of its Ryzen 3 1200 processor. Tom's Hardware reports this three-years old low-end chip is now shipping with a Zen+ core. Whereas the original version used a 14nm Zen-based Summit Ridge die, the new model has a 12nm Zen+ based Pinnacle Ridge die. All other specifications like clockspeeds, cache and TDP remain the same.

Fortunately, the new part has a different SKU so you can know if you're buying the updated version:
If you want to know which part you're buying, be on the lookout for part number YD1200BBM4KAFBOX for the new version. The old 14nm Ryzen 3 1200 was listed as YD1200BBM4KAEBOX. The boxed version comes with the Wraith Stealth cooler included as standard.
The Ryzen 3 1200 "AF" should be a bit faster than the original model thanks to architectural improvements.
