NotebookCheck reports Intel's new Xe-based Gen12 integrated graphics of the Tiger Lake laptop processors are very speedy. A leaked chart that presents data from 3DMark Fire Strike reveals that when comparing chips with the same number of graphics execution units (EUs), Tiger Lake graphics are over twice as fast as Ice Lake.
If we look at Ice Lake’s 48EU variant and compare it with Tiger Lake 48 EU variant then it appears that TGL is more than twice as fast, which should not really be surprising considering how important the Xe graphics launch is for Intel.
The 10nm Tiger Lake mobile processors are expected later this year. Some models will feature 96 EUs, using a similar configuration as the DG1 discrete card. The desktop market will also see Xe integrated graphics later this year, via the launch of the 14nm Rocket Lake-S.
