A bunch of information and speculation about AMD's future processors and APUs hit the web. VideoCardz offers a summary of the main points.

Processors:
  • Matisse Refresh: Next month we can expect the Matisse Refresh. These will be a couple of new processors based on the same Zen 2 design, with an XT moniker. It's rumored to include the Ryzen 9 3900XT, 7 3800XT and 5 3600XT. Pretty confusing names as this looks like Radeon naming!

  • Vermeer: Upcoming Zen 3 based processor. Launch expected in September 2020.

  • Raphael: Rumored to be Vermeer's successor. Believed to be the first Socket AM5 chip.
  • APUs:
  • Renoir: Zen 2-based desktop APUs, will use the Socket AM4.

  • Cezanne: Renoir's successor. These chips will be based on the Zen 3 design but will stick with GCN-based graphics. This means AMD will continue to use Vega-based integrated graphics in 2021. TSMC 7nm without EUV.

  • Rembrandt: A Zen 3+ based APU but this model will adopt RDNA integrated graphics. May support DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory, USB4 and two PCIe 4.0 devices. May also be first Socket AM5 APU. Made using TSMC's 6nm node.

  • Van Gogh: Zen 2 based APU with RDNA graphics. This is speculated to be an ultra-low power APU to rival Intel's Y-series. TDP of 9W is expected.
  • AMD CPU roadmap
