ReviewGeek reports that starting on Monday, Google will remove legacy support for the first-generation Philips Hue Bridge. This Philips Hue product hit the market in October 2012 and was replaced by the v2 Bridge in 2015.

Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting, phased out Internet connectivity for the v1 Bridge on April 30th, 2020. The old model is no longer receiving updates, which can be a security risk, and users are recommended to shelve out $59.99 for a new Hue Bridge.
Now, come June 22nd, Google Assistant is cutting off legacy support for the original Hue Bridge. The Assistant has been occasionally reminding users of the v1 Bridge that support will end on the 22nd, giving them plenty of time to adjust the way they interact with the Hue bulbs or pick up a v2 Bridge.
Users can still control lamps via the legacy Philips Hue Bridge v1 app, if they're connected to the same local network. Alternatively, you can use Amazon's Alexa as this service is still supporting the first-gen Hue Bridge for the time being.
