We already know Big Navi will hit the market as the Radeon RX 6000 series, but what level of performance can we expect? Will AMD finally be able to compete with AMD in the high-end market again, or will Big Navi be another part that focuses on price/performance?
We still know pretty little about Big Navi, so far there haven't been a lot of leaks. Igor claims AMD's new lineup will not be able to match the GeForce RTX 3090 but that the company should have something that can deliver performance between GeForce RTX 3070 and 3080 level. According to his sources, the first Big Navi product will have a TDP of 275W. Igor claims AMD could reach GeForce RTX 3080-like performance with a TDP of over 300W.
Furthermore, Igor claims AMD's add-in board partners haven't been able to start production of custom cards yet because they're still waiting on the bill of materials from AMD. It takes about three months to bring cards to shelves so it doesn't look like there will be a lot of custom Big Navi cards this year. Most models sold this year will be reference cards made by AMD if this is true.
