While the Ashes of the Singularity benchmark is notoriously hard to use for the actual purpose of comparing the performance of computer parts, its database is often a treasure chest for finding unannounced hardware. This week folks found the first benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, an upcoming Zen 3-based processor with eight cores.
Unfortunately, the AotS benchmark does not record any specifications of the devices, such as CPU or GPU frequencies. It also does not confirm the platform. Hence we cannot confirm the clock speeds or a motherboard that was used for these test runs. There were few benchmarks presets tested, such as Crazy 1080p, 1440p, or even 4K. The benchmark provides the data for GPU and CPU generated framerates.
AMD CEO Lisa Su will reveal the Ryzen 5000 desktop processors at an October 8th online event. The company is skipping the Ryzen 4000 naming to make its naming scheme less confusing. This means the upcoming Vermeer (the new desktop CPUs) and Cezanne (the APUs) chips will both share the Ryzen 5000 series naming. Previously, Vermeer would have been Ryzen 4000 series while Cezanne would be Ryzen 5000.
