So far we haven't heard a lot about mobile versions of NVIDIA's Ampere GPUs but now VideoCardz came across a picture of a qualification sample of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile GPU. Codenamed GN20-E5-A1, this chip features the GA104 GPU in combination with 8GB GDDR6 memory.
The GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile is pretty much confirmed to feature GDDR6 memory. The SK Hynix modules are labeled as H56C8H24AIR. A quick google search reveals that the same memory is used by AMD Radeon Pro 550M. When it comes to the capacity, according to Notebookcheck, the RTX 3070 Mobile carrying the GN20-E5 codename should feature 8GB GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit bus.
The exact configuration of the RTX 3070 Mobile is still unknown, it may have 5888 CUDA cores like its desktop counterpart. So when is it expected to hit the market? VideoCardz heard NVIDIA is planning a CES reveal in January 2021.
