Windows Latest
noticed Microsoft has made further steps to retire the old control panels in Windows 10 October 2020 Update. Previously, Windows 10 featured a combination of new Settings menu and the old-style control panels, the latter being the ones that were present in earlier versions of Windows. With the release of Windows 10 October 2020 Update, the software giant has placed its modern Settings app more front and center. While some control panels are still accessible, all shortcuts have been removed that allowed you to access the retired pages of the Control Panel.
Microsoft says the Settings app already has functions provided by these ‘retired’ Control Panel applets, so this really appears to be the case of streamlining the settings experience by removing duplication, rather than forcing users to use incomplete functionalities.
