AMD server marketshare may double to 20% in 2021

It's not a secret that AMD has given Intel a big beating in the CPU market yet marketshare gains still come slow due to a variety of reasons. Especially the datacenter market is a pretty slow mover. DigiTimes reports market watchers expect AMD will hit a server CPU marketshare of around 10 percent this year.

By the end of 2021, AMD's marketshare is expected to hit 20 percent.

On a related note, the highlights of the day article from DigiTimes also points out that spot prices of specialty DRAM and NOR flash memory have begun to rise. An increase in manufacturing costs is to blame. The higher prices are expected to persist through Q2 2021.
