Is the 6GB version of the GeForce RTX 3060 video card still a go? The SKU dropped off NVIDIA's roadmap after the company found out that AMD is using a lot more memory on its new Navi video cards. A such, NVIDIA upgraded its upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 to feature 12GB GDDR6 memory -- which is more than several cards that are positioned above this model.

Now VideoCardz came across evidence that NVIDIA, or its board partners, are still planning 6GB versions. A fresh filing from Palit to the South Korean National Radio Research Agency reveals the firm has 6GB versions of its GeForce RTX 3060 DUAL and GeForce RTX 3060 DUAL OC.
At this point it is not clear if NVIDIA is indeed still planning the 6GB model. Judging from how many XX60 models the company usually launches, it would actually be surprising if the 12GB variant was the only variant. In other words, it is very likely that we will see RTX 3060 6GB, but one would expect it to launch around the same time as Radeon RX 6700 or RX 6600 XT.
The GeForce RTX 3060 will launch on February 25.
