Together with GDC 2021 Showcase, Intel published a teaser for its Xe-HPG. This is an upcoming chip aimed at gamers, it's expected to be released later this year. We still known relatively little about Xe-HPG but this may change soon.

The short trailer provides a couple of clues. First up, it shows five layers, which may or may not be a reference to a specific feature of the Xe-HPG. For example, it could have five times as many execution units as the current Xe-LP. This is somewhat in-line with the rumor about Xe-HPG having 512 EUs in its maximum configuration.

Xe-HPG Scavenger Hunt starts on March 26th

There's also a binary code hidden in the video, it points to a Xe-HPG Scavenger Hunt website. The website will go live on March 26th, which is three days after the "Engineering of the Future" webcast from Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger.

I expect we'll hear more details about Xe-HPG next week but for a deep dive, we'll probably have to wait longer. I would be surprised if Intel shared a lot of details next week as there are no indications that a product launch is nearby. It will likely happen in the second half of this year.
