AMD's HEDT lineup hasn't seen a whole lot of love. Since November 2019, there hasn't been a new non-PRO product and AMD has kept its lips tight shut about next-gen Threadripper parts. Now there is a rumor that Zen 3-based "Chagal" Threadrippers are on the horizon.

Chagal expected in September

Citing a post from ServeTheHome forum member lihp, VideoCardz reports the next-generation Ryzen Threadripper lineup may be introduced in August. Allegedly, the retail availability is slated for September.
Furthermore, it is said that Zen3 Threadripper with 16-core is still on the table. This is a reminder of a much earlier rumor back from January when Yuri Bubliy has said that Genesis might come with 16 cores. At the time ‘Genesis’ was associated with the Threadripper Zen3 series till we learned about a new codename “Chagall”.
According to VideoCardz, AMD has yet to provide a microcode update to enable support for existing TRX40 motherboards. The site speculates we'll see a lot more leaks about the next Threadripper once AMD rolls out this update.

At the moment, it's still unclear whether the next-gen Threadrippers will use "5000" or "6000" series branding.
