Intel has scheduled a webcast to talk about its new manufacturing strategy. Details are slim for now, but Intel indicates it's accelerating its annual cadence of innovation. At the event, CEO Pat Gelsinger and Dr. Ann Kelleher, senior vice president and general manager of Technology Development, will offer a deeper dive into Intel's process node and packaging roadmaps. The event will be livestreamed via Intel's Newsroom website on 2 p.m. PDT, Monday, July 26, 2021.

Four months ago, Gelsinger revealed Intel's IDM 2.0 strategy. Key pillars include the buildout of 7nm capacity, the use of external foundry services, and the rollout of Intel Foundry Services. Two weeks from now, we're looking going to get an update about how 10nm is ramping and how the 7nm node is shaping up. Packaging technology will also be an important focus, as this is one of the new areas of innovation in the semiconductor industry.
