While NVIDIA made at least some efforts to limit cryptocurrency mining on its gaming GPUs, this is not an action that's being considered by the firm's rivals. AMD has no intention to make its Radeon GPUs less attractive to gamers and now Intel confirmed in an interview with Gadgets 360 that it won't be doing this either.
[…] As far as like software lockouts and things of that nature, we’re not designing this product or building any features at this point that specifically target miners. As far as actions we’re taking to avoid or lock them out, it’s a product that will be in the market and people will be able to buy it. It’s not a priority for us. — Roger Chandler
Interestingly, Intel graphics chief Raja Koduri also told Gadgets 360 that the firm can't guarantee good supply at launch. He pointed to high demand and a difficult market, a problem also faced by NVIDIA and AMD.
