Is Intel getting into the cryptocurrency mining market? At next month's International Solid-State Circuits Conference, the chip giant will take part in a session titled "Bonanza Mine: An Ultra-Low-Voltage Energy-Efficient Bitcoin Mining ASIC." Seeking Alpha
writes there's speculation that Intel will release a Bitcoin mining ASIC.
There are no further details yet so we can only speculate whether this will be an actual product that will be sold or little more than an interesting research project.
Intel, one of the world's largest chip makers, is likely to unveil a specialized crypto-mining chip at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) in February, according to the conference's agenda.
