AMD's Spansion flash memory chip subsidiary claims it is the first to launch a one gigabit NOR single chip flash device.

The one gigabit NOR flash device, the Mirrorbit GL is, according to AMD, the highest density single chip memory device available in the market.

The Mirrorbit family also includes a 512Mbit device.

The 1Gbit chip operates at 3V, has a read speed of 110ns and a page read speed of 25ns using an eight word page buffer.
