Intel's 50W Yonah explained

The Inquirer has posted an article about the new E-class (Extreme) of Yonah processors that will have a thermal design power (TDP) of 50 or more Watt.

The reason for this isn't because Intel has problems with the 65nm process or that something else went wrong. It was intentionally.

Intel has seen the success of notebooks aimed at gamers and has decided to bump up the power a bit to create faster chips for mobile gamers.

That makes sense.
