VIA debuts K8T900 chipset

VIA has launched a new chipset, the K8T900 which features dual 8x PCI Express slots.
One selling point of this new chipset is of course performance, and gaming performance at that. With a 7800GTX, the numbers it is showing have it edging out an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe based on an NForce4 SLI by a few frames per second on Doom3, and a few points in PCMark. Since any AMD based benchmark will be dominated by the CPU and the onboard memory controller, any differences will be pretty slight. Overall, if the press release numbers hold up, look for a decent performing chipset.
