VR-Zone heard ATI is preparing a new technology called Power Express Technology, it will be enabled by a future Catalyst driver or a separate program.

This technology will enable notebook users to hot switch between IGP and discrete graphics to save power.
Right now, Intel Napa platform and NVIDIA C51 chipsets have the ability to shutdown PCI Express lanes to conserve power so ATi's Power Express Technology is really a step in front. By shutting down the discrete graphics on a notebook featuring mobility X700, it will reduce the power consumption by a third.
