Microsoft shares storage plans

Microsoft shared some information on its upcoming NAS operating system in addition to divulging some of the storage features in the latest release of its server OS.
Windows Server 2003 R2 should be available to the channel by the end of January, says Redmond, while NAS appliances that feature WSS '03 R2 should ship by March.

Both have common new features, says Microsoft. One such is the new File Server Resource Manager which lets administrators set storage quotas in a more detailed way than previously possible.
