Nordic Hardware have just posted their article "Extreme overclocking: ATI X1800XT vs nVidia 7800GTX 512MB". They gave the cards to Sweden's best processor overclocker, Robert "Crotale" Kihlberg, and the world's best 3DMark overclocker Marcus "Kinc" Hultin, to give ATI and NVIDIA's flagships some really cold treatments. During a hectic weekend with very little sleep they achieved some very impressive results and at the same time managed to destroy a graphic card worth 8000 SEK ($750).

Usually we don't talk about the overclocking until the end of our articles, but this time thought we would do the exact opposite. We usually test the cards with the stock cooler, but we thought we would change that. Therefore we hired Marcus Hultin, also known as Kinc and world record holder in all three 3DMark categories. He will with the help of dry ice and liquid nitrogen investigate what X1800XT and 7800GTX 512 can do under extreme conditions.

You can check it out over here.
