SiS and VIA are going to launch chipsets with support for Windows Vista in Q1 2006, DigiTimes reports.

These chipsets with integrated graphics will feature support for DirectX 9.0, a requirement for Microsoft's upcoming Windows Vista which is slated for October 2006.
SiS has scheduled two Vista-ready integrated chipsets – the SiS770 for the AMD platform and the SiS670 for the Intel solution – with the former being launched in the first quarter of next year and the latter by the third quarter, the company said. Volume shipments are expected to begin before the updated OS release date, the company noted.

VIA plans to launch both its PM890 for the Intel platform and K8M890 for the AMD platform in the first quarter of 2006, the company stated.
