DigiTimes writes Asus is preparing a new 12-inch notebook series with a white LED based LCD display. The advantage of this technology is lower power consumption.
Available notebooks that feature LED displays are Sony’s VAIO TX series, the Libretto U100 from Toshiba and the T70 (only in Japan) from Fujitsu. Asustek is expected to be the world’s fourth notebook vendor to offer a notebook with a LED display, following the three Japanese companies.
