Seagate launches 160GB perpendicular HDD

The Inq reports Seagate has launched its first 160GB notebook hard drive that uses perpendicular recording.

The 2.5-inch HDD uses a PC's USB port and supports a data transfer of 40Mbps.

The 160GB HDD will cost $379 and will be available in February.

By April the firm will also unveil an e-Sata HDD with a storage capacity of 500GB.
