Intel Merom to start at 2.33GHz

Posted on Tuesday, January 17 2006 @ 02:16:04 CET by

The clockspeeds of Intel's Smithfield and Presler processors range from 2.80GHz to 3.60GHz and according to sources at motherboard makers, the samples of the Conroe start at 2GHz.

The chip giant's desktop strategy will likely differ from the notebook strategy - where there's a clear differentiation in the clock speeds of the low and high-end solutions. The Yonah ranges from 1.06GHz to 2.33GHz and the Merom starts at 2.33GHz.

More details over at DigiTimes.
