Personally I believe laptops are a great solution for normal consumers. At home you can use them just like a normal desktop, with a mouse, keyboard and LCD display connected to them. Notebooks are smaller than desktop PCs but offer a comparable performance, only the hard drive storage capacity is lagging a bit behind.
