When the XPC was powered up and running for an extended period the PSU was moderately warm. About the same level of heat you feel when putting your hand by the exhaust fan on your PSU. The size of this PSU might make it difficult to hide in a really tight space or spaces where hiding niches are scarce. I do like the idea of a self contained, external PSU that keeps its own heat away from the PC it powers.
