Sapphire X800XL and X700 Hybrid AGP Review

AGP still reins supreme with many gamers as the adoption to PCI-Express hasn’t fully taken hold amongst the hard-core or even mainstream user. To that we’re not surprised as there really isn’t much performance advantage to going to PCI-Express due to that fact that most high-end video cards still house the textures locally rather than swap across the bus to store them in system ram. Mainstream users are still looking for an AGP 3D graphics card that’ll accelerate many of today’s DX8 and DX9 games with adequate performance which is exactly what Sapphire is trying to fill the void with by its Radeon X700 128MB card that comes with a decent bundle and does a pretty good job at 3D applications and games. Check out GDHardware's full review to learn more about these two ATI-based videocards.
