NVIDIA’s 6600GT graphics processor was launched last year with much fanfare. At the time it was the best performing mid-range graphics processor—typically matching the previous generation high-end Radeon 9800 Pro and GeForce FX5950 Ultra. Back then NVIDIA limited 6600GT configurations to 128MB graphics memory because a 256MB 6600GT would give the 6800 a good run for its money in Doom 3.
