AMDzone has posted their review of the Athlon 64 FX62 and X2 5000+ on the new Socket AM2. They test on the Foxconn and Asus AM2 nForce 590 SLI boards, and test 800MHz and 1066MHz DDR2 memory settings. They also overclock each CPU with stock air cooling.

On June 1st 2006 AMD officially launches their new CPU Socket with 940 pins. The Socket AM2 brings primarily DDR 2 support to the table, but also has a few other enhancements including virtualization support. Paired with the AM2 launch is Nvidia's new nForce 500 series that comes in SLI to mainstream options and includes new features like RAID 5, Linkboost, and more. Also launched are new SLI branded memory sticks from Corsair, OCZ, and other memory companies as well as new motherboards from Asus, Foxconn, Gigabyte, ECS, DFI, MSI, Abit, and many more. It doesn't stop there as new AM2 coolers are coming, and power supplies certified for SLI as well.
