Quaid does an excellent job of being the pompous professor who is seething with some kind of bitterness and disdain for everyone around him. We have all met him in one way or another. Through the movie he holds that odd barely functional personality through mannerisms and the way he walks and talks and facial expressions. It was a pleasure to watch.
