Here at CES in Las Vegas, LG and Verizon Wireless showed off their first consumer EV-DO handset, the VX8000. The 3G EV-DO data service will allow subscribers to download files and surf at near-DSL speeds - approaching 500Kbps.

The VX8000 has a built-in 1.3 megapixel digital camera. The camera has settings for white balance, brightness, shutter sounds, and even an adjustable ISO speed setting. A number of special effects modes, such as Sepia, are also available, as is a 4x digital zoom mode.
