Earlier in the year I had my first look at a new line of devices that over the recent months have been getting more and more popular with people on the go who need heaps of storage with them. Naturally I’m taking about wireless hard drives and when I first saw the Gauntlet way back last year at a trade show, Patriot were keen to show me what these drives had to offer, with scalability for connecting up to three devices at once and streaming content through the use of a mobile application that can be downloaded through Google Play and the Apple App Store. What really set these units apart from the likes of Kingston’s Wi-Drive was that considerably larger storage capacity – offering up to 320GB through a 2.5” hard drive. Battery life was also fairly remarkable at the time as well with around 4 hours of continuous use to be expected and seen.
