NEC MultiSync LCD1970GX-BK 19" LCD Display Review

I saw this LCD flat panel display at a local Fry's Electronics store and was blown away by the picture quality compared to other displays. The overall image is amazingly sharp, great contrast with really black blacks, details are retained in photos and flesh tones exceptional for digital image work. The only concern I had was the amount of glare on the screen in the store with the massive overhead lights.

In my home environment where I can control the lighting, I don't have a problem with glare, but could see some folks objecting to this. For me however, the superb quality is absolutely worth the trade-off. I also really liked the thin frame, built in cable management, 4 port USB 2.0 hub, and height-adjustable support column. I had an older NEC 21" CRT that I thought I was going to miss when I converted to this 19" LCD, but the actual visible screen size is almost the same, and image quality so good that I plan on watching a whole lot more DVDs on my computer than I used to! All around an awesome display!
