"With those capabilities within my grasp, I had an idea to automate the collection of these metrics, along with CPU temperature, as well as the starting and stopping of some CPU load. That ability to start and stop the load is what I think is the most interesting aspect of the process as it means I can record data from the idle period before the load begins, during the load, and then after the load. This allows a graph over time to show frequency, temperature, and power usage data when the CPU is idling prior to the load, running through the load and its boost, and finally cooling off at the end."
