Stock of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3080 ran out instantaneously on the card's launch day. Webshop Newegg said they received more traffic than on Black Friday and now there's a tweet from Zotac about the crazy demand.

VideoCardz noticed Zotac posted a tweet (which has since been deleted) about how much pre-orders their ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity card received. Due to an error Amazon Germany took pre-orders for this card and this resulted in a massive 20,000 orders, even though there was very limited stock!
The company announced on Twitter that the orders may need to be canceled, otherwise weeks of waiting time is to be expected:

Almost 20,000 pre-orders have been received and, with the best of intentions, we cannot serve them in a short time, as much as we wanted. So again: We are infinitely sorry, but we also don’t know what went wrong here.
